WORKSHOP << OH, WOW!
MSDM teaching mode
01 | LESSON
MSDM
is the one in the world
offering this approach to training
The Course has a part-time formula that allows you to easily combine professional commitments and, in case of neo graduates profiles, you have the opportunity to carry out a full-time or part-time internships during the course or at the end of it. The Course takes three days a month in attendance (Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 9.15am to 1.15pm and from 2.15pm to 6.15pm usually during the last week of each month from November to October) and every Monday evening in distance-learning from 7:00pm to 9:00pm.
In the months of June and October the program includes two in-person sessions.
In June, in addition to the one in Milan, the intensive and thematic Workshop takes place at the Federal Technical Center “Luigi Ridolfi” of the Italian Football Federation (F.I.G.C.) in Coverciano (Florence). While in October, in addition to the Milan session, the intensive and thematic Workshop takes place at the Olympic Preparation Center (C.P.O.) “Giulio Onesti” of the C.O.N.I. in Rome.
All lessons can still be followed remotely (Blended mode). A digital platform of the Master’s Community will also be created on which all the recordings of the lessons (both remote and in person) and all the program materials (papers, books, regulatory updates, etc.) will be uploaded on the personal and reserved platform.
02 | MATCH DAY
is a unique exclusive
of MSDM
The match-day experience is a unique exclusive of the Master in Sport Design and Management.
A complex organization to allow all students to come into direct contact with the management of stadiums and arenas: Facility Manager, Stadium Manager, Safety and Security Manager, Match Operations Manager, Hospitality Manager and many others. See and touch the sports infrastructures and their management during the matchday, understand the set-up of the spaces, from broadcast to the TV compound to the “GOS room”, discover the secrets of the operation of complex machines for sports on the day of maximum stress.
And then: experience the emotion of the Match together even in the Hospitality Area!!!
What does match-day involve?
It usually includes:
• tour of the stadium during the event with arrival at the stadium 2 hours before to see the set-up of the spaces (media, technical, hospitality, safety, security, etc.) together with the stadium manager of the host structure
• attending match/event
This is a typical program:
• exclusive tour of the stadium (together with the stadium managers and the various stadium/arena area delegates) of the internal areas (hospitality, Media, etc.)and external (pitch, TV compound, Media, etc.)
• accreditation to the respective hospitality area
• after match “meet and greet”: at the end of the match meeting with the players at the exit
• from the changing rooms for various photos/autographs
Over the years we have organized Match-Days at:
Milan San Siro (A.C. Milan, F.C. Internazionale Milano | Serie A TIM) | Allianz Torino (Juventus F.C. | Serie A TIM) | Milan Forum Assago (Pallacanestro Olimpia | EuroLega) | Reggio Emilia Mapei Stadium (U.S. Sassuolo | Serie A Tim) | Cremina Zini Stadium (U.S. Cremonese | Serie A TIM) | Monza Arena (Vero Volley | Serie A) | Parma Lafranchi Stadium (Zebre Parma | Super League) | Monza U-Power Stadium (A.C. Monza | Serie A TIM) | Bergamo Gewiss Stadium (Atalanta Bergamasca Calcio | Serie A TIM) | and many more…
03 | SITE VISIT
another exclusive
of MSDM
During our Site-Visits in the no-MatchDay we can see every part of the stadium or arena, understand how the spaces are managed when there is no sporting event (or when there are events other than sporting ones), how these spaces are used to generate revenue.
What does site-visit (no match-day) involve?
It usually includes:
• Tour of the stadium including areas that cannot be visited during the match day (GOS room, locker-rooms, etc.)
• Lesson from the stadium manager in one of the hospitality rooms of the stadium/arena
Discover with us the exclusive experience only for our Master to go up to the roof of the San Siro Stadium in Milan, walk the huge red beams and enjoy a unique view of Milan.
04 | WORKSHOP
and again an exclusive
of MSDM
The first WS takes place in Coverciano (a few minutes by taxi or bus from Florence) at the Federal Technical Center of the Italian Football Federation.
It takes place from Wednesday to Friday and is managed by the F.I.G.C. with the involvement of various figures from the federation who bring attention, each with respect to their own skills and role, on multidisciplinary and current issues which, during the last edition, focused for example on:
• UEFA Licensing and Financial Sustainability (Formerly Financial Fair Play)
• Stadium Operations
• Big events: FOCUS on BID_2032
• Economic, financial and strategic profile of Italian and international football
• Focus on European projects + reference to chapter n.3 of the BID
During the WS the students stay in the Hotel of the Italian National Football Team in a context with a unique landscape and atmosphere.
During the stay, a visit to the “Football Museum” of Coverciano and site-visits in structures close to the center (Viola-Park, Artemio Franchi Stadium, etc.) are planned.
The second WS takes place in Rome, in the equally evocative context of the Olympic Preparation Center (C.P.O.) of the C.O.N.I..
During the WS in Rome there will be sessions on the world of “non-football-sport” management and major Olympic events. During the WS, site visits are planned at the Olympic Stadium, the Foro Italico and other sports facilities.
05 | CONFERENCE
text text text
of MSDM
Every year we organize thematic conferences that involve important stakeholders of the SPORT industry, athletes, companies, etc.
Furthermore, the Master is invited to conferences and conventions and is present at all the most important tables that talk about SPORT and Major Sporting Events (Milan- Cortina, EURO-2032, Mediterranean Games, ATP Tennis Finals and many others).
06 | PROJECT WORK
side by side
to world’s stakeholders
During the Course, students develop a Project-Work in direct contact with teachers and stakeholders from the world of sport.
The Project-Work can be connected to a possible internship (if requested by the student) or develop independently according to the interests of the student or requests from the stakeholders involved.
The Project-Work is then discussed collegially in the Aula Magna of the Politecnico di Milano.
The development path of the Project-Work is followed both by internal tutors (members of the Scientific Committee, professors of the Polytechnic of Milan, professors who give lessons at the Master) and by external tutors identified in the world of the Sports industry.
07 | INTERNSHIP
ranging
a significant network
of internationally renowned partners
For those who request it, the Course guarantees internships in high-level professional and cultural realities and of various types in the world of Sport and similar.
